Position Overview

​

A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Coordinator to manage the timely, accurate, and efficient billing of client matters. This position works closely with assigned attorneys and members of the Finance team to prepare prebills, generate invoices, comply with client-specific billing requirements, and resolve billing issues throughout the revenue cycle.

​

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a sophisticated legal billing environment and will serve as a key point of contact for attorneys, clients, e-billing personnel, accounts receivable, pricing, and other Finance and Administrative teams.

​

Key Responsibilities

​

  • Prepare and upload client prebills using Prebill Manager.

  • Review attorney prebill edits and generate accurate client invoices.

  • Process and coordinate electronic invoices in accordance with client billing requirements.

  • Ensure bills comply with engagement letters, client billing guidelines, and firm policies.

  • Work with attorneys to resolve billing questions, corrections, write-downs, and other billing issues.

  • Coordinate work-in-progress write-downs and obtain appropriate approvals.

  • Maintain accurate client billing and instruction files.

  • Prepare internal and client-facing billing reports, spreadsheets, summaries, and expense documentation.

  • Research and resolve billing-system issues and unusual billing situations.

  • Coordinate with e-billing, accounts receivable, pricing, and other Finance personnel.

  • Identify process improvements and assist with special billing projects.

  • Respond to attorney and client inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

 

Qualifications

​

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end client revenue accounting and legal billing process.

  • Experience with Aderant Billing and Prebill Manager.

  • Experience with client e-billing platforms.

  • Familiarity with BillBlast and other revenue-cycle applications.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong client-service orientation.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

  • Proactive, analytical, and inquisitive approach to problem solving.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and legal billing experience preferred.

 

Compensation

​

Ranges vary by market, approximately:

  • Chicago/Los Angeles/Washington, D.C.: $75,000–$90,000

  • Michigan offices: $60,000–$75,000

  • Minneapolis: $65,000–$80,000

  • Dallas/Houston: $65,000–$80,000

  • San Antonio: $60,000–$75,000

  • Wisconsin: approximately $65,000–$80,000

Legal E-Billing Specialist

Position Overview

​

A leading national law firm is seeking experienced Legal E-Billing Specialists to manage the electronic submission and processing of client invoices. The position partners closely with Billing Coordinators, attorneys, clients, accounts receivable personnel, and third-party e-billing vendors to ensure invoices are submitted accurately, accepted promptly, and processed in accordance with client billing requirements.

​

Key Responsibilities

​

  • Onboard new clients and maintain existing client profiles on e-billing vendor platforms.

  • Update timekeepers, billing rates, budgets, and related client information.

  • Submit invoices through client e-billing portals and BillBlast.

  • Monitor invoice status and acceptance across multiple vendor platforms.

  • Research and correct e-billing submission errors.

  • Coordinate with billing personnel to correct underlying issues in Aderant and resubmit invoices.

  • Interpret client engagement letters and billing guidelines.

  • Identify billing issues that could delay invoicing or collections.

  • Review cash and payment information and identify discrepancies or reductions requiring follow-up.

  • Research aged e-billed receivables and assist with resolution.

  • Maintain client billing instructions and supporting documentation.

  • Provide guidance to billing personnel regarding complex e-billing requirements.

  • Assist with special projects and revenue-cycle initiatives.

 

Qualifications

​

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end client revenue accounting.

  • Legal billing and e-billing experience.

  • Experience with Aderant Billing and Prebill Manager preferred.

  • Experience with BillBlast and other revenue-cycle applications preferred.

  • Familiarity with major client e-billing platforms.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.

  • Strong client-management and customer-service skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent legal billing experience preferred.

 

Compensation

​

Approximately $65,000–$90,000 depending on location and experience.
